India product engineering blogs
The companies you apply to, grouped by payments, commerce and infra, with three rules for using them.
This page is open all year, with a boost in weeks 24 to 34. These are the companies your Track E applications target. Reading their engineering blogs gets you ready for the interviewer side of the funnel. Round-by-round and salary intel lives on the career page.
What to do
Pick one post a week from the group matching your current applications. Read it before you send the application or sit the round, not after.
Write one line in your notes: the claim, one number, and the sentence you would say about it in the interview.
Start with the aggregator
Sutradhar collects engineering blogs from PhonePe, Razorpay, Flipkart, Swiggy, Meesho, Groww, CRED and more in one feed. Use it on collection day instead of scrolling interview experiences.
Payments
- PhonePe Tech Blog: payments at 500M-user scale. Read the ledger and UPI posts before you pitch Ledgerline.
- Scaling India's payments, PhonePe CTO Rahul Chari (South Park Commons): how the largest Indian payments platform is actually built.
- Razorpay Engineering: fintech correctness and platform engineering.
- CRED Engineering: read the case study on large scale re-architecture for an order system rebuild.
- Groww Engineering with a Medium mirror: trading reliability. See Building 915: inside Groww's high-performance trading terminal and Groww Lite: disaster-resilient trading.
- Juspay and Hyperswitch blog: open-source payments orchestration.
Commerce
- Flipkart Tech: start with MySQL High Availability, then read the ByteByteGo version of the Flipkart MySQL story.
- Swiggy Bytes: delivery engineering at peak-hour scale.
- Meesho Engineering (also on Medium): social commerce systems at ₹23-LPA-loop scale.
- Dream11 Engineering and d11engg on Medium: fantasy sports engineering under spike load.
Infra
- Zerodha Tech: small-team, high-uptime engineering. Their philosophy matches a Shiplane pitch.
- Last9 blog: an observability startup built in India, working on the problems your P3 creates.
Usage rules
- Read one post a week during growth weeks, and one per interview pre-week in S5. Record it in the note format: claim, number, applicable to my project.
- Before every onsite, read two posts from that exact company and prepare one relevant line for your application playbook.
- Never re-read an interview-experience post during the reading slot. That stays capped by the operating rules.
